Calling a business can sometimes mean searching through emails or messages for a confirmation number, reservation detail or order number while you are already on the phone. iOS 27 introduces Call Context, an Apple Intelligence feature that can surface relevant information directly on the call screen.
The feature connects the business you are calling with information already stored on your iPhone. Instead of switching between apps to find the right details, Call Context can bring related information into view when you need it.
How Call Context Works
Call Context uses information from apps such as Mail, Messages, Calendar and Wallet to find details that may be relevant to the business you are calling.
For example, if you are calling an airline about an upcoming flight, your iPhone may display the related flight information or confirmation number on the call screen. This can save you from leaving the Phone app and searching through your inbox.
The information shown depends on what is available on your device and whether iOS can identify a relevant connection to the number you are calling.
Call Context Can Surface Multiple Relevant Details
The feature can be useful when you have more than one reservation, order or other piece of information associated with the same business.
If multiple relevant details are available, Call Context can surface them so you can use the information that matches the reason for your call. This is particularly useful when contacting businesses you have dealt with more than once.
You Can Turn Call Context Off
If you do not want relevant information to appear when making calls, Apple provides a setting to disable the feature.
Open Settings, go to Apps > Phone > Apple Intelligence & Siri, then turn off Show When Calling.
Which iPhones Support Call Context?
Call Context requires Apple Intelligence, so it is limited to compatible iPhone models. Apple Intelligence is available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as iPhone 16 and later models that support the feature.
Availability can also depend on language and region. Apple Intelligence features are not available in every language or location.
Why Call Context Is Useful
Call Context does not change how you place or receive a phone call. Its usefulness comes from putting information you may already need closer to the conversation.
Whether you are calling about a flight, an order, a reservation or another business transaction, having the related details on the call screen can eliminate one of the most common interruptions during customer service calls: searching for information while you are talking.
