Petit Planet, an Animal Crossing-Style Game for iOS, Launches December 4

Petit Planet will release on December 4, as per the latest update from HoYoverse. The Animal Crossing-style game will launch on iOS, Android and PC on the same day, with pre-download starting on December 1.

Players who pre-register get the Bestie Star-Light and Sproutling Outfit. HoYoverse, the studio behind Genshin Impact, ran a tiered pre-registration campaign before Zenless Zone Zero’s global launch too. Petit Planet repeats that approach with a milestone reward, a redemption code and several events, all run through the official Petit Planet site.

Petit Planet December 4 launch starts with pre-download on December 1

HoYoverse posted the trailer on the official Petit Planet YouTube channel on October 30. It confirms the December 4 launch, with pre-download opening three days earlier.

The game comes to iOS, Android, Windows and the Epic Games Store after the Final Beta Test ended on October 19, and a Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for 2027.

Players grow their own planet in a way that draws frequent Animal Crossing comparisons, and the cast includes Yunguo, a Cultivator who tends sprouting crops and startles when a visitor walks up. Her art is still in development and not representative of final quality.

Pre-registering gets you the Bestie Star-Light, a code and team rewards

Pre-registration earns the Bestie Star-Light and the Sproutling Outfit, and the Gifts from the Starsea lucky draw on the pre-registration page offers more prizes. Pre-registering in a team of three earns Archiboo tops, and joining the social media events gives a chance at further prizes.

The redemption code PTPL1204 pays out 10 Curio Sea Whistles after launch, and it can be redeemed in the game or on the official website. Each reward has its own claiming rules on its event page.

The Launch a Planet event has two deadlines to watch

The Launch a Planet event runs from November 1 through November 30 at 23:59 (UTC+8). Players log in with a HoYoverse Account, design a planet with brushes and stickers, then name it and submit it, and an approved planet appears in the Starsea on the event page.

Completing the event tasks earns Lucasprouts and other in-game rewards, which arrive in batches by in-game mail after launch. Claiming them requires logging in with the same HoYoverse Account and creating a character by December 30 at 23:59 (UTC+8).

Ten participants are also randomly selected to have a real star named after their planet, with a digital certificate and a physical gift pack. The naming comes from a third-party provider and is commemorative only, so it is not an official astronomical designation.
