Spirit Userland iPad Jailbreak demoed on video

Spirit-Userland-Jailbreak-Ported-to-iPadWell, that didn’t take long! Just yesterday, the iPad was made available to the general public and already a jailbreak has been demonstrated. Comex had recently posted a video of a working untethered jailbreak for iPhone OS 3.1.3. It takes advantage of a bug in Mobile Safari in iPhone and iPod Touch. The same bug exists in iPad OS 3.2, which has been proved by Comex demonstrating a working port of the Spirit Userland jailbreak.

This jailbreak doesn’t require the downloading of any app or creating a jailbroken firmware. The jailbreak is just a demo so far, similarly as it was for the iPhone and iPod Touch. We’re not sure when Comex plans to release it to the public. The question is if the jailbreak is released, will Cydia apps work fine on the iPad?

Stay tuned for more updates on this iPad Jailbreak! We’ll let you know as soon as it’s available. [via BlogsDNA]
