Apple Updates TestFlight and GarageBand with iPhone Duo Support

Apple has updated TestFlight and GarageBand with support for the iPhone Duo, a day before the foldable goes on sale on Friday, October 23. Pages, Numbers and Keynote also moved to version 15.4.1 today, with new Apple Creator Studio features.

The updates arrive as developers ship their own Made for iPhone Duo apps. Apple said that apps built with standard SwiftUI and UIKit components adapt to each display automatically, moving controls to the side and expanding into multiple columns on the inner display.

TestFlight 4.4.1 and GarageBand 2.3.20 Add iPhone Duo Support

TestFlight 4.4.1 is a 20.7 MB update. Its release notes list support for iPhone Duo, along with stability improvements and bug fixes. TestFlight is how developers send beta builds to testers, which makes it a launch-week tool for anyone checking an app on the new foldable.

Version 4.4.0 added landscape support in iOS 27 on iPhone, plus resizing when you use iPhone Mirroring on a Mac.

GarageBand 2.3.20 is out now and adds support for iPhone Duo, with the same stability improvements and bug fixes. The app turns an iPhone or iPad into a set of Touch Instruments and a recording studio, and it also works in iMessage.

On the 7.6-inch inner display, the largest ever on an iPhone, the Touch Instruments have more screen to work with. The outer display measures 5.4 inches. GarageBand’s Sound Library offers packs such as Ultimate 808s, Electronic Drummers and Keyboard Collection for new loops and instruments.

Pages, Numbers and Keynote Get an Intelligent Assistant in Version 15.4.1

Pages, Numbers and Keynote are all on version 15.4.1, at 698.4 MB, 645.3 MB and 676.1 MB. The main addition is an Intelligent Assistant in beta, and it is limited to Apple Creator Studio subscribers. Each app gets its own version of it.

  • Pages starts a first draft, then helps you edit, organize and improve the writing. It can draft a section, adjust your tone, and generate images and shapes from a plain-language request.
  • Numbers builds complex formulas, uncovers insights and visualizes your data. It generates tables, suggests charts and helps with formulas in natural language.
  • Keynote helps you build the story, add animations and refine slides. It generates slides, presenter notes, images and shapes in natural language.

All three assistants offer guidance on where to start and can search for current information on a topic and add it to the file.

Keynote Adds an Open File Format and All Three Apps Get New Premium Content

Keynote 15.4.1 can import and export presentations in the new Keynote Interchange Format (.keyx). The format is open and still in beta, and it makes it easier to work with presentation content outside the app. This one is available to everyone, not only subscribers.

Creator Studio subscribers also get a new collection of professionally designed templates in Pages and Numbers, and new themes in Keynote. A Content Hub adds curated videos that bring motion and depth to documents, spreadsheets and presentations. All three apps pick up additional bug fixes and performance improvements for every user.

The Intelligent Assistant is US English only and needs an Apple Intelligence-capable device running iOS 27 or iPadOS 27 or later.
