WhatsApp to introduce the ability to migrate chat history from Android to iOS

WABetaInfo has found that WhatsApp is developing a new feature for Andriod users to easily transfer their chat history from Android smartphone to iPhone. Previously, the company added the ability to transfer chat history from iOS to Android smartphones running on the latest Android 12 operating system.

Earlier, WhatsApp extended end-to-end encryption protection to chats saved on the cloud and now it, allow all users to transfer chat history across platforms. The new capability will make it easy for consumers to switch smartphones and migrate their saved chats including photos, voice messages, and text messages on the app. Currently, it is not possible for users to transfer chat history when switching from Android to iPhone.

In the latest WhatsApp beta  22.2.74 version, WABetaInfo discovered a new feature to move chat history from smartphone running on Android 12 to iOS. Users will require the Move to iOS app to transfer their content to their new iPhone or iPad.

You can already migrate your chat history from iOS to Samsung Devices.
WhatsApp and Google have already enabled the support for migrating your chat history from iOS to Pixel phones.
Android 12 devices will be supported to receive the chat history from iOS at a later date.

Move to iOS app is available on the PlayStore for Android users to download for free. However, the feature is underdeveloped and its release date is unknown.

The aforementioned feature is one of the many changes WhatsApp is set to release on the platform. Earlier it was reported that the company is working on a new two-step verification authentication method for the app’s desktop and web versions. The upcoming capability will add another layer of protection to prevent unauthorized sign-in attempts.
