Microsoft has released a brand new Visual Studio for Mac Preview for developers. The new IDE is based on Xamarin Studio, which was acquired by Microsoft earlier this year. Visual Studio for Mac Preview is different than Visual Studio Code for Mac – they share the same name but the former is a full-fledged development environment while the latter is a code/text editor.

Dropbox app has been updated to version 18.2 with iOS 10 support. The latest version of the app introduces five new features which make files sharing and viewing very convenient on iPhone and iPad. With all the great new features in iOS 10, Apple has also introduced some fundamental changes that long term iPhone or iPad users might not like. One of these is a change to how the home button works along with TouchID. Now, users have to press the home button, even when the screen is on, instead of resting their finger on TouchID, to unlock it. This is different to how it works in iOS 9, where you could simply rest your finger on the TouchID sensor and the screen would unlock so fast that users would miss the opportunity to even read their notifications.

Apple has aired its first iPhone 7 TV ad, available also on YouTube. The ad highlights iPhone 7’s new cameras, water-resistant body, stereo speakers and longer battery life. The ad does not feature any clear shot of iPhone 7 but shows different parts of it to drum up the hype, as we head towards the launch date of September 16h.
