Twitter has been following Facebook’s footsteps with many of its feature updates and user interface changes. The latest in such updates comes a Buy button, which Facebook had announced back in July.

Twitter Begins Testing A New Buy Button for iOS and Android Mobile Apps

Twitter aims to make shopping fun and easy on mobile by allowing selected partners to show a buy now button in Twitter’s Android and iOS apps. Users can simply see the product they like in a tweet, and it is from one of the selected partners, they can tap the Buy Now button, enter their payment and shipping details to complete their order. To allow buyers to be confident about security, Twitter has assured credit card information will be saved in an encrypted format and can be removed anytime from the settings.

Here is the list of all test partners, which includes artists, brands and nonprofit organizations.

The Buy Now button will be available in the United States only during testing phase. There is no word on when it will roll out world wide and to more retailers.
