Apollo Reddit app adds Pixel Pals for iPhone 14 Pro Dynamic Island

Apollo Reddit app for iOS has added an interesting new feature called Pixel Pals which works with iPhone 14 Pro Dynamic Island. This is a fun little feature that puts a little animal on top of the Dynamic Island that moves around while you use the app.

Put creatures in the Dynamic Island with Apollo

This is an optional feature and if you don’t like it, it can be disabled. Called Dynamic Island Zoo, Apollo features a collection of different pets including a cat, dog, hedgehog, fox, and axolotl. Each of them has its own name and personality.

Alongside appearing on the Dynamic Island, these creatures can also be shown as a Lock Screen Widget. This works on those iPhone models too which do not have the Dynamic Island.

Lastly, even if you don't have a new phone with a Dynamic Island, you can add these pixel pals as a lock screen widget under the time!

This is the same concept as Tamagotchi, however, you do not really interact with your creatures in Apollo app.

Apollo is one of the best Reddit apps on any mobile platform and is available for free in the App Store. This update is available for free. Users can also upgrade to the optional Pro or Ultra versions via in-app purchases.

This is not the first time that a developer has created a unique experience around Dynamic Island. A free game called “Hit the Island” lets you play Pong with the Dynamic Island.
