Apple discontinues M1 Mac mini, and 2021 MacBook Pro models

Apple unveiled the first Macs of 2023 this week, the new Mac mini with M2 and M2 Pro chips and the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips.

Following the introduction of new computers, Apple has now discontinued the M1 Mac mini launched in 2020 and the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max launched in 2021.

In 2020, Apple began the transition of the Mac lineup from Intel-based processors to its custom processor and introduced the first-generation Apple Silicon Macs that included the M1 Mac mini. These Apple Silicon Macs are still available in the market from third-party vendors but Apple no longer sells them in its online and retail stores.
