Apple TV+ has released the trailer for its upcoming sports docu-series “Super League: The War for Football” scheduled to premiere on January 13, 2023.
The four-part series is directed by Jeff Zimbalist, an All Rise Films’ News & Documentary Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, and produced by Libby Geist. It is executive produced by Connor Schell along with Zimbalist.

Based on the drama surrounding European football, the new “Super League: The War for Football” will unveil the collision, betrayal, and powerplays by club owners, league presidents, and other stakeholders involved in the project.
The teaser for the new series uploaded on Apple TV+’s official YouTube channel features a glimpse of the challenges faced in changing the dynamics of European football.
“Super League: The War for Football” is a four-part series that documents the high stakes battle that is set off when plans for a breakaway league emerge and the past, present and future of European football collide, leaving the game’s most powerful leaders to defend, or upend, the traditions of the sport. With unprecedented access to league presidents, club owners and the architects behind the European Super League, the docuseries brings fans the yet untold story of how and why this idea was hatched and the battle plans that were formed to fight it.
“Super League: The War for Football” will join Apple TV+’s growing library of non-fiction programming related to sports like the documentary on the life and career of seven-time Formula One world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton, “Underrated, “They Call Me Magic” series, “The Long Game: Bigger Than Basketball”, “Make or Break”, “Greatness Code” and others.
