Apple TV+ award-winning comedy show ‘Ted Lasso’ top the TV show charts in the United States and worldwide. A new list of top 10 television shows in July by JustWatch revealed that Ted Lasso took the lead as the most-watched television series. Jason Sudeikis stars as Ted Lasso in the series telling the journey of a small-time coach of American college football from Kansas, who is hired to coach a professional English soccer team in England.

This is a major milestone for the video streaming service. Previous, JustWatch market research found that Apple TV+ had only captured 3% of the video streaming market in the United States. However, with the addition of new shows, movies, seasons, and other content, Apple TV+ is attracting more subscribers.
Season 2 of the comedy show premiered on July 23 and the first episode ‘Goodbye Earl’ was an explosive hit for the video streaming service. The premiere of Season 2 become Apple TV+’s biggest weekend opening, with major boosting video streaming service’s viewership in the United States and worldwide. Apple TV+’s new viewers grew by a record-breaking 50% week-over-week and viewership grew by 300% in geographic segments in the U.S., U.K., Canada, India, Italy, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, France, and other regions. The six times bigger opening weekend of Ted Lasso had a halo effect which boosted the viewership of other Apple TV+ shows like Mythic Quest, Schmigadoon, and Physical over the subsequent 3-days.
Season 1 of the popular comedy show achieved several milestones. It won three Critics Choice Awards for Best Comedy category, Best Actor in a Comedy Series, and Best supporting actress in a comedy series, and two Writers Guild of America Awards for Best New Series and Best Comedy Series. Sudeikis won Gloden Globe Award for “Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series” in the “Musical or Comedy” category and won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series category for his performance in Ted Lasso series.
