Ming-Chi Kuo details iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro features, colors and supply chain challenges

Apple recently confirmed that its fall event, “Wonderlust,” is going to be held on September 12. Following the tech giant’s announcement, anticipation is building around the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro design and features.

TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has just shared some of his predictions on the upcoming iPhone 15 lineup’s finish and features like titanium casing for Pro models, USB-C port in all four models, and more. He also provided expected per-order dates.

Customizable Action Button, USB-C, Wi-Fi 6E support, and more coming to iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro

In his latest blog post, Kuo listed the changes he believes are coming to standard and pro models of the iPhone 15 series and the supply chain challenges.

Lighter titanium frame

One of the standout changes in the iPhone 15 Pro models is the shift from stainless steel frames to lightweight titanium frames. This transition is set to make the Pro models notably lighter compared to their iPhone 14 Pro predecessors. Kuo assures that manufacturing hurdles related to the titanium frame, display panels, batteries, and an innovative stacked camera sensor for the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have all been successfully overcome.

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro colors

Rumors about color options for the Pro models have been corroborated by Kuo. Expect to see the Pro models in classic shades like gray, silver/white, black, and blue. Notably, the absence of a gold variant in the Pro lineup marks a departure from tradition. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are poised to be available in an array of bright hues, including black, pink, yellow, blue, and green.

Supply considerations – iPhone 15 Pro Max launch

Kuo emphasizes that the iPhone 15 Pro Max entered mass production last in line, possibly leading to constrained availability during the initial launch. Apple enthusiasts eyeing this particular model might need to exercise some patience as the supply catches up with the demand. The Cupertino tech giant already expects high demand for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Ahead of any official announcement,  the iPhone 15 Pro Max already accounts for 35% – 40% of total iPhone 15 shipments.

USB-C, Dynamic Island, and more

All four iPhone 15 models are expected to boast a USB-C port and the innovative Dynamic Island technology. Additional enhancements, especially for the Pro models, are on the horizon. The much-anticipated A17 Bionic chip promises faster performance, while the inclusion of a customizable Action button adds a layer of personalization. Users can also look forward to Wi-Fi 6E support and a host of other exciting features.
