Apple has seeded macOS Sonoma 14 Beta 6 to developers and beta testers after a week’s delay. Last week, the tech company did not release macOS Sonoma 14 Beta 6 along with iOS 17 Beta 6, iPadOS 17 Beta 6, and other developer beta updates.
Although release notes of macOS Sonoma 14 Beta 6 include a long list of new features and resolved and unresolved issues, there are a few changes that the company did not mention.

- System Settings is updated with the following settings:
- Desktop and Dock > Desktop & Stage Manager section with a new Show Items feature with “On Desktop” and “In Stage Manager” options.
- Desktop and Dock > Widgets section updated with new Show Widgets features with “On Desktop” and “In Stage Manager” options.
- Wallpaper section has a new toggle to show the Dynamic Sonoma wallpaper as a screen saver in light and dark modes.
- Screen Saver section adds a new animated Sonoma (Dynamic wallpaper) screen saver for the Lock Screen, along with the natural landscape “Sonoma Horizon” screen saver. It can be set as automatic, light, or dark.
- Sidebar has returned to the Safari web browser.
- AirPods’ Automatic switching is impressively fast. It is one of the advanced features coming to AirPods lineup in iOS 17 for improved personalized audio.
- New Splash screens for a few apps like Podcasts.
Apple has resolved several issues in the latest developer beta update and improved performance; apps load faster and smoother. Battery life is also good.
