Instagram introduces three new features

The new features were announced via Twitter, the extension of the Live Video limit is the biggest one. It was previously capped at one hour, but now it has been increased to four hours. This means that users who go live for classes of cooking, teaching, yoga, etc will not have to restart the live stream every hour.

Next is the new feature, ‘Live Archive’ where all live videos of a user will be kept. Before Instagram only archived posts and stories but now live video archives have also been introduced.

The Live videos will be archived for 30 days after the end of a live stream. This new option can be accessed by clicking on the menu icon from the top right corner of the profile screen. After that, tap on the Archive option there and choose ‘Live Archive’. The videos can be downloaded and then can be re-uploaded on IGTV as well.

Apart from this, Instagram has added a ‘Live Now’ section in Explore and on the IGTV app so users can explore more Lives.
