A popular Youtube channel known for Apple leaks, EverythingApplePro has released a new video on iPhone 12 with all the latest reports on the expected features and release date. Quoting leaks by known names in the industry like Max Weinbach, Ming-Chi Kuo, @L0vetodream, and others, the video states that the new flagship smartphone by Apple will have a smaller battery, improved camera system, enhanced sound quality, and more.
The channel quotes that the expected release date of iPhone 12 will be split into two events separated by a month: the 4G and LTE models will launch in October and 5G models will launch in November.
Latest iPhone 12 Leaks
EverythingApplePro gave a recap of most of the news circulating in the industry and he also had a few new pieces of information regarding the new smartphone. Here is the list of all the latest iPhone 12 leaks.
Display and Speaker
According to sources, the Pro models of the new iPhone will ship with120Hz refresh rate display but the technology will be deactivated which inherently means that there will not be a 120Hz display on the 2020 iPhone.
In the entire line-up of the new flagship iPhones, the Pro models will have the thinnest bezels, but the bezels of smaller iPhone 12 models will still be thinner than the current iPhone 11.
Based on sources familiar with the product, EverythingApplePro quotes Max Weinbach that the speaker of the new flagship smartphone will be much better than the one on iPhone 11. In a demonstration, the music played on the speaker of iPhone 12 had deeper bass and more clarity than the iPhone 11, when played at 50 percent.
The latest iOS 14 ships with a display zoom feature for smaller iPhones, which should be helpful on the 5.4-inch iPhone 12. The display UI is not reduced in size which will make it easy to navigate on smartphones with smaller screens.
Camera
Quoting Ming chi Kuo, the video reports that drastic improvements are being made to the camera system in iPhone 12. Using voice coil motor optical image stabilization, Apple has improved autofocus by moving it from a spring base system to magnet-based system.
Based on Kuo’s report, it is also rumored that sensor-shift image stabilization technology is coming to iPhone 12 and when combined with a new autofocus system, it will give users a much-enhanced camera system. Kuo also reiterates that ‘periscope zoom‘ to increase optical zoom capabilities will be ship in future iterations of the iPhone. He claims that Apple is already in talks with suppliers.
Packaging
The box of the flagship iPhone 12 series has been in news for its removal of accessories. Quoting a Twitter leaker, the video states that Apple will finally ship braided cables with new iPhones which will be more durable because it will help avoid the cables from fraying at the edges with time.
More importantly, there are several reports which say that Apple will ship the new smartphones in smaller and slimmer packaging by excluding the charging brick from the box.
5G network support
iPhone 12 will support both mmWave and sub-6Hz 5G technologies due to the unequal availability of 5G technology around the world. Different carriers will be offering different bandwidth for the next-generation cellular network. However, in 2021, Apple will only include single-band support for 5G networks in the smartphones depending on the prevailing 5G network support of the market.
Battery and Storage
According to a certification website, the battery in the new iPhone 12 Pro Max will be 3687 mAH which is a lot smaller than expected and when compared to the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The leaker expressed disappointment over the reduced battery size for the entire line-up.
Based on gallium nitride technology, the smaller frame will generate more power so the smaller size of the battery will not be a factor. Interestingly, a leaker suggests that Apple will introduce reverse wireless charging on the upcoming iPhone.
iPhone 12 Pro models are speculated to have 6GB RAM, while the smaller models will have 4GB RAM. The video also reiterates the use of A14 chip and triple-layer logic board.
Design and other details
It is expected that the new iPhone 12 models will have a new ‘Gorilla Glass Victus’ by glass manufacture Corning. The new glass will be more drop-resistant and scratch-resistant. Last but not the least, iPhone 11 line-up will be discontinued after iPhone 12’s launch.
