Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models, set to be released this September, are rumored to include new color options. According to reliable sources on Weibo, the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to showcase a stunning dark red shade and the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will introduce a green hue reminiscent of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11’s popular mint color.
iPhone 15 Pro to showcase new exclusive color inspired by the iPhone 14 Pro’s “Deep Purple” colorway
The Weibo leaker, known for their accurate reports in the past, previously revealed that the iPhone 14 Pro would feature a captivating “deep purple” color. Their claim regarding the redesigned camera flash cutout also proved to be true. In regards to the iPhone 15 Pro, the leaker described the shade as “crimson,” noting that it may be slightly lighter than the deep purple of its predecessor but still maintaining a rich and intense tone.
Additionally, it is worth noting that Apple typically tests multiple color options before finalizing the selection for each iPhone model. For the entry-level iPhone 15 variants, earlier reports have suggested the inclusion of light blue and pink as potential color options.
The iPhone 15 Pro’s color choices hold particular significance due to the rumored use of titanium material in its construction. Apple has previously employed titanium in its Apple Watch, offering coatings in “natural” and “space black.” This transition necessitates a meticulous process to perfect the coating application on the titanium material, taking into account factors such as production time, yield rates, and costs.
While the exact availability of these colors at launch remains uncertain, Apple may introduce them in a subsequent spring refresh.
As for other expected features, we know that Apple plans to expand the Dynamic Island to this year’s standard iPhone models. In addition to this, all four models in the lineup are expected to ditch the Lightning port in favor of USB-C connectivity. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to be powered by the advanced 3nm A17 Bionic chip and the higher-end models will feature a new Action button replacing the mute switch. Furthermore, the iPhone 15 Pro Max might include a periscope-style telephoto lens to enhance its zooming capabilities.
