Apple has not announced an October event, but reports point to as many as seven new products before the end of 2026. The rumored lineup covers the iPad, the Mac and the smart home, and it follows a September that already brought the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Duo, AirPods 5, Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.
Not every product is equally likely to show up in October. Mark Gurman has said several are expected later this year, while the timing of the home hub is more fluid and the OLED MacBook Pro could slip into early 2027. Treat every item below as a rumor until Apple confirms it.
Apple Has Not Set a Date for an October Event
Apple usually holds a fall event in October or November, and it sometimes announces products through press releases instead. A date around October 16 or October 23 looks unlikely, because that would take attention away from the iPhone Duo pre-order and launch dates. Apple launched the M6 Mac mini and M5 Ultra Mac Studio on September 22, and the M6 Mac mini is already in stores.
Apple typically sends invitations about a week before an event, so an announcement would show up in early to mid October if Apple goes that route.
Seven Products Are Rumored for the Rest of 2026
- iPad mini: a redesign with an OLED display, an A19 Pro or A20 Pro chip, a new speaker system without holes and a water-resistant design. More details in our roundup of iPad mini OLED rumors.
- iMac: an M6 chip and possibly new colors, with no change to the design. Our M6 iMac report has the full picture.
- 14-inch MacBook Pro: the entry model is expected to move to the base M6 chip. See our M6 MacBook Pro guide.
- OLED MacBook Pro: 14-inch and 16-inch models with an OLED display, a touchscreen, a Dynamic Island and a thinner body, sometimes called the MacBook Ultra. This one could slip into early 2027.
- Apple TV: a faster chip that can run Siri AI, plus Apple’s N1 wireless chip.
- HomePod mini: a newer chip with Siri AI support, better sound, the N1 chip with Wi-Fi 7, a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip and possibly new colors such as red. The design is expected to stay close to the current model.
- Smart home hub: a squarish display of about 7 inches for controlling smart home products, playing music and making video calls.
The Apple TV and HomePod mini were covered our previous report, and the smart home hub is the subject of a separate report about employee testing. Apple has also been preparing Siri AI for HomePod, which may need new hardware.
Several of the home products reportedly waited on Siri AI. Now that Siri AI is out, the Apple TV, HomePod mini and hub are the products most likely to arrive together, and Apple could show them in a single release rather than one at a time.
Our Take
The smart hub is the most exciting product for me as I would love to replace my aging Google Nest Hub. Even though Apple has made a place in the smart living room with Apple TV and HomePod, they only do parts of what a smart home hub offers. I hope Apple does it well as it will be entering a new category of devices, and competition is always good for us as customers.
