Whatsapp for iOS has released a new “Global voice message player” which enables users to continue listening to audio messages anywhere in the app. Now, iPhone users can listen to their audio messages while texting, checking, reading, or texting other messages.
In October 2021, WABetainfo found the new voice message player which was under development at the time and now it is available to all iOS users.
The new ‘Global voice messages player’ on WhatsApp allows users to play, and pause messages out of the chat thread
WhatsApp has improved users’ experience on the platform by giving them the freedom to go through other messages while listening to an audio message even after closing the chat thread it was sent it.
When an audio message, swipe right to leave the chat. Automatically, the voice message player will appear on top of the Home UI with play/pause and close buttons and while listening to the audio message, users can browse through their chats feed, open any chat, read or send messages to other chats.
This is a useful feature that allows users to multitask on the app, especially for small businesses and when listening to longer messages.
The platform has added several new features for iOS like message reactions to make the communication more interactive and fun, voice recorder, support for iOS Focus mode, ability to migrate chat history from Android to iOS, new notification for mention in group chats, profile photo in notifications on iOS 15, and more.
Recently, the head of the company said that it would “love” to develop an iPad app which the users have been requesting for some time and has been in development, allegedly.
Currently, the rollout of the new voice message player is slow, but eventually, everyone will receive the update. Either the update will be pushed automatically or the app will have to be updated via the App Store.
