Guide: how to hacktivate iPhone OS 3.1.2 with blacksn0w

George has declared today the sn0w day as he’ll be releasing blacksn0w with blackra1n RC3. blacksn0w is the first ever unlock for 05.11.07 baseband on the iPhone. The change log as well as instructions are now available. As promised, here’s the complete guide on how to hacktivate your iPhone 3G/3GS with blackra1n RC3.

Download the latest version of iTunes.
Connect your iPhone to your PC/Mac and upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.2
Download blackra1n. ( Chose the correct version for your OS )
Run the app and click on the make it ra1n button.
Let it do its job and once your iPhone reboots, the blackra1n app will be there in the Springboard. Run it and install blacksn0w.

If you already had blackra1n installed on your iPhone, run the app and you’ll see ‘ra1n’ instead of Icy. Upgrade by tapping it. After the upgrade, it’ll show ‘sn0w’ in the options. Install it and your iPhone will be unlocked.

blacksn0w will also be released via Cydia later today so those who jailbroke using pwnage tool or deleted the blackra1n app will be able to unlock their iPhones easily.

I bought a 32gb 3.1.2 OS today i have tried to jailbreak it with blackra1n RC3 and it wont work afterI run the aplication it shows the apple on on the screen, then shows the itunes usb logo and then the screens goes black, it doesnt show anything and it doesnt reboot, WHAT IS WRONG, i red on another website earlier today that a guy who bought it yesterday had the same problem.

Hi guys, i bought an iphone from ebay. now it was working fine until i mistakenly resotred back. Now the phone is locked to its network. I cannot go to springboard as it saying insert valid sim card. Could someone possibly help me active the phone 1st and unlock it. I do not have ATT sim card as i am in UK

You downgraded from 3.1.3 and kept the 05.12.01 baseband aswell? I am having trouble opening cydia now. Do you know what may have happened??

If you guys can’t it right for your carrier service do follow below tricks:-

AFTER BLACKSN0W
1. switch OFF WIFI
2. switch ON 3G
3. switch ON DATA ROAMING
4. set PLANE MODE ON
5. eject your SIM card
6. put back de SIM TRAY
7. lock screen for 1 minute
8. eject SIM tray and inside your SIM card
9. set PLANE MODE OFF
10. once you get your signal, set 3G and Data Roaming OFF
11. try make a call.
12. Done

hey, i have an ipod touch which i found in town however, it has a passcode on it. i have now entered so many wrong combinations that the ipod is now disabled and will not connect to itunes as my laptop is obviously not its primary source. is there any possible way for me to unlock this ipod as it wont even connect to my laptop? please help

Why would anyone help you keep an iPod Touch that's not yours? Return it to the lost and found where you found it. Have a heart or get a conscience. Someone is sick to death and heart broken.

You don't have to be stupid or excessively careless to lose an iPod (or as the news shows, even a prototype iPhone), just human.
