Musclenerd, member of the iPhone Dev Team and part of the ‘Dream Team’ (iPhone Dev Team + Chronic Dev Team) that’s working on the Corona A5 jailbreak for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0.1, has posted an update on the iPhone Dev Team blog regarding its status. Normally when a music or video app is running, its icon shows in the application switcher tray in iOS. A few examples of such apps are the Music (formally iPod), YouTube and Vevo. How cool would it be if instead of the icon, the album art of the currently playing son shows instead of the Music app? iOS 5.0.1 update hasn’t done much wonders for users for their battery life woes but it has introduced a new bug which messes up the address book for iPhone 4S users on Verizon. What it does is that it removes the contact’s name and shows just their number in the text contact field or when someone calls the user. I’ve been reading about this issue all over the Internet and if you’ve come here, chances are that you’re suffering from this as well. Ever since the final release of iOS 5, the iPhone 4 battery drains like there’s a leak in it. Sure, I use my phone a lot more than the average person ( I know because people give me the looks which I rarely notice as my eyes are glued to the screen ) but the battery drains the most on standby which is just astonishing! For all those in the dark, or who just forgot, pre-orders for the new iPhone 4S begin tomorrow morning at 12:01 PDT. That is in approximately 1 hour. I am online and waiting to get mine, and so should you. Expect to see some weird activity, as the site will be getting hit hard with lots more people trying to get their phone.
