Apple Releases macOS Golden Gate 27.2 Beta 3 to Developers

Apple has released macOS Golden Gate 27.2 beta 3 to developers. The build arrives two weeks after macOS 27.2 beta 2 and carries Siri AI in new languages along with redesigned brightness and volume sliders.

Apple jumped from macOS Golden Gate 27 straight to macOS Golden Gate 27.2, so there were never any macOS 27.1 betas. The first beta arrived on September 16, two days after Golden Gate reached the public.

macOS Golden Gate 27.2 is built around Siri AI languages and new sliders

Siri AI is the main addition. macOS Golden Gate 27.2 brings it to new languages, and Apple has said they arrive in October. Beta 1 introduced Siri AI in five new languages, covering French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, so Mac users who work in any of those can test it now.

The redesigned brightness and volume sliders are the change you will see every day. They showed up in beta 2, and our post on the redesigned volume and brightness sliders has the details. The public beta added them too, along with Apple TV profiles, in the iPadOS 27.2 and macOS 27.2 public betas.

Anyone staying on the public release can look at macOS Golden Gate 27.0.1, which added bug fixes. Mac owners dealing with a drained battery after upgrading have a separate guide on fixing macOS 27 Golden Gate battery drain.

Developers can install macOS Golden Gate 27.2 beta 3 from System Settings

The betas have come at a steady pace. Beta 1 came on September 16, beta 2 on September 21, and beta 3 two weeks later. Registered developers can download it with a few clicks:

  • Open System Settings and click General.
  • Select Software Update.
  • Opt in to the macOS Golden Gate betas and install the update.

A secondary Mac or a separate APFS volume is the safer place to try it. macOS Golden Gate 27.2 is expected to launch toward the end of October, just after new MacBooks are expected to be announced.
