Apple has released macOS 27.2 Golden Gate beta 2 to developers. The second beta follows the first by one week, and macOS 27 Golden Gate reached the public on September 14. Apple jumped straight from macOS 27.0 to macOS 27.2, so there were never any macOS 27.1 betas.
macOS 27.2 arrives with no macOS 27.1 beta before it
The first macOS 27.2 beta landed on September 16, just two days after Golden Gate launched. Apple is holding iOS 27.1 for the iPhone Duo, which is expected to ship with that version on October 23. The likely reason for the Mac skip is that Apple prefers to keep version numbers in step across its platforms.

Siri AI in new languages is the headline for macOS Golden Gate 27.2
macOS Golden Gate 27.2 beta 1 introduced Siri AI in new languages. Apple had said Siri AI will expand to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish in October.
Two Apple Intelligence features were also pulled from the launch version of macOS Golden Gate. Apple said both would return in a future update, and it is possible that update is 27.2, though Apple has not confirmed a date.
- Suggestions in Messages, which offers actions based on the context of a conversation, such as inserting a photo someone just asked for.
- The Passwords app feature that automatically updates weak and compromised passwords.
How to install macOS 27.2 beta 2
Registered developers can download the beta from System Settings.
- Open System Settings and click General.
- Select Software Update.
- Opt in to the macOS Golden Gate betas and install the update.
Nothing in this beta is urgent for a Mac you rely on. Golden Gate 27.0 is already out, and the new Siri AI languages only matter if you use one of the five. If you want to try macOS 27.2 early, use a secondary Mac or a separate APFS volume.
