Apple has released watchOS 27.2 beta 3, tvOS 27.2 beta 3, and visionOS 27.2 beta 3 to developers. The betas arrive two weeks after the second ones and land alongside new betas of iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, and macOS Golden Gate 27.2.
Apple began the 27.2 cycle on September 16 and skipped version 27.1 for watchOS and tvOS. Registered developers can download the new betas through the Settings app on each device.
watchOS 27.2 is where the new Health app readiness score gets tested on Apple Watch
With iOS 27.2 and watchOS 27.2, Apple is testing the redesigned Health app it showed at its September iPhone event. The app has new Insights and Longevity tabs, plus a readiness score that uses data from Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. Our post on the iOS 27.2 public beta shows what testers get from the Health app on iPhone.
Beta 2 was the more interesting watchOS build so far, since it brought back the App Switcher with a press and hold on the bottom of the screen. watchOS 27 had removed the Digital Crown shortcut, and there is a list of App Switcher workarounds for anyone still on the release version.
Two Apple Intelligence features are planned for Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 later this year. Live Rewind transcribes the last 15 seconds of speech after a double press of the Digital Crown, and Siri Recap turns conversations from your day into short notes. Neither has been confirmed in a beta yet.
tvOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2 have no announced changes, and a new Apple TV 4K is on the way
There is no word on what Apple is adding to tvOS 27.2 or visionOS 27.2. Both have been quiet point releases so far, with the Health app as the only headline feature across the watchOS 27.2 cycle.
The beta pace has been one week between beta 1 and beta 2, then two weeks to beta 3. If you want to try either one, the install runs through Settings on the Apple TV or Apple Vision Pro. Apple Watch owners new to the current release can start with our list of 20 things to try after updating to watchOS 27.
A new Apple TV 4K with Siri AI support is expected sometime before the end of the year.
