Apple released the first public beta of iOS 27.2 today, opening its redesigned Health app up to anyone enrolled in public beta testing instead of just developers.
The public build matches yesterday’s iOS 27.2 beta 2 for developers, following iOS 27.2 beta 1 six days earlier. iOS 27.2 follows the official launch of iOS 27 from September 14, while iOS 27.1 is a separate, smaller update built specifically for iPhone Duo.
There was no iOS 27.1 beta because that’s the build that iPhone Duo will ship with. This is why Apple skipped the version for beta testing, and jumped straight to iOS 27.2. It is expected that Apple will merge these moving forward, likely with iOS 27.3 or something along those lines.
Redesigned Health App
Apple first showed off its rebuilt Health app during the iPhone 18 Pro event, and it’s now live for anyone testing the public beta. The update carries Apple Intelligence features across the app, including new Insights and Longevity tabs.
iOS 27.2 Also Updates FaceTime, Siri AI, and Podcasts
The rest of the beta covers smaller, scattered changes across several apps:
- Group FaceTime gains a dual capture mode
- Siri AI languages expand to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish
- Apple TV app profiles arrive on iPhone for the first time
- Apple Podcasts renames Up Next to New Episodes, with Continue Playing moved directly below it
- Apple Music trims how much of its icon’s color shows up on labels inside the app
- Apple Music shows a countdown to new album releases
iOS 27.2 is on track for an official release in October, with both developer and public beta tracks now running in parallel ahead of that.
Apple has also released the first public beta builds for iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, watchOS 27.2, and tvOS 27.2, which mostly have feature parity with their iOS counterpart, specially when it comes to Siri AI and Apple Music.
