PianoFold Turns the iPhone Duo into a Classical Piano Tile Game

PianoFold is a free rhythm game for the iPhone Duo where you fold the phone like a laptop and classical piano tiles glide toward pads under your fingers. The game requires iOS 27.0 or later, and iPhone and iPad players can choose a camera-powered Room view or a glowing dark stage.

Developer Brian Corrieri released PianoFold on the App Store, and Apple’s editors included it in their Great Games on iPhone Duo collection. PianoFold joins iPhone Duo apps built around the hinge, like Hinge Angle Meter, which reads the fold as a live angle gauge.

Folding the iPhone Duo turns the upright screen into a window onto your room

With the iPhone Duo folded like a laptop, the upright screen shows your room through the camera while the tiles flow toward you. Tapping the pads beneath your fingers plays the melody, and the accompaniment plays along. You tap in time, hold the long tiles and build a combo.

Every song you unlock has a practice room. You can slow the song down, play either hand or both and switch from tiles to an onscreen piano keyboard. Turning on Wait for me pauses the music until you play each note, and practice earns no stars and opens no levels.

PianoFold has 40 levels across eight chapters, from Ode to Joy to Für Elise

The music comes from composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Bach and Tchaikovsky. Beating songs unlocks new ones, and you can return to earn three stars on every song. Every chapter starts with two songs available, so another song is ready when one gets tricky.

You can retry instantly as often as you like, since the game has no lives and no waiting. Each chapter holds five songs, and version 1.0.2 made chapters open sooner, so you beat three of its five songs instead of four to reach the next venue. The home screen now shows each song’s tile pace before you unlock it, and the update fixed a crash when you tap a reminder notification.

The first two chapters are free and the Full Game is a one-time $4.99 purchase

Once you reach chapter two, Today’s song lets you play one song from the full game free each day until midnight. A single Full Game purchase opens all eight chapters and every song’s practice room, and songs added later are included. The game has no ads and no subscription.

PianoFold is a 26.8 MB download that requires iOS 27.0 or later on iPhone and iPadOS 27.0 or later on iPad. The game is in English and carries a 4+ age rating.
