New Apple Watch Ultra with micro-LED display and AirPods Lite expected in 2024

Tech analyst at Haitong International Securities in Hong Kong, Jeff Pu claims that Apple plans to debut two new wearable products in 2024, an Apple Watch Ultra with a micro-LED display and a cheaper “AirPods Lite”.

In late 2022, the tech giant launched the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra with a 49mm (1.9-inch) larger display, longer battery, and a completely new flat-edge-to-edge design language exclusively for extreme sports fans.

The company also released AirPods Pro 2 powered by an advanced H2 chip and new features like Adaptive Transparency, MagSafe charging case with Find My support, Touch control stems, and more available for $249, the same price as AirPod Pro (1st generation).

Currently, Apple Watch Ultra is equipped with an OLED display, and AirPods 3, the cheapest wireless headphones, starting from $169.

Before the launch of AirPods Pro (2nd generation) in 2022, it was reported that the tech company would release a cheaper AirPod Pro Lite in 2021 powered by the older H1 chip and without features like active noise cancellation and would retail for $49 less than the current price, for $200.

Although Apple did not introduce AirPod Pro Lite, it is expected to launch an AirPod Lite in 2024. Pu clarifies that the tech company might not use the same branding, but the new wireless headphones would be cheaper than its current lowest-priced headphones.

In his latest research note, Pu also states that the tech giant is working on a new Apple Watch Ultra with an even larger 2.1-inch micro-LED display to deliver higher brightest than the current model. However, he did not provide additional details like the new wearables’ prices and design.
