Christopher Walken joins Apple TV+ thriller ‘Severance’

Apple TV+ is expanding its star-studded cast for an upcoming thriller “Severance,” with Oscar-winning actor, Christopher Walken. Alongside Walken, other big names like John Turturro and Patricia Arquette are a part of the cast.

Produced and directed by Ben Stiller, “Severance” is a workplace thriller drama set at Lumen Industries, a company that’s looking to take work-life balance to a new level through a “severance procedure” that separates work and out-of-work memories.

Christopher Walken joins Apple TV+ thriller ‘Severance’

Walken has a lead role as Burt, Head of Optics and Design at Lumen Industries, reports Deadline. Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, and John Turturro are also a part of the cast, along with Walken.

The series will follow the story of Mark, played by Adam Scott, who works at a company that is trying to take work-life balance to a new level:

“Severance takes place at Lumen Industries, a company that’s looking to take work-life balance to a new level with a “severance procedure,” which separates work and out-of-work memories. Scott stars as Mark, an employee with a dark past trying to put himself back together.”

Walken will play Burt, one of the department heads of the company:

“Walken will play Burt, the department Head of Optics and Design at Lumen Industries. The series is written and created by Dan Erickson, whose Severance script was the first TV script to make it on to the annual Bloodlist in 2016.”

“Severance” is rumored to go into production this month. The series is written and executive produced by Dan Erickson, who also serves as co-showrunner. Mark Friedman will also serve as co-showrunner along with being the executive producer.

Apple TV+ is the Cupertino tech giant’s video streaming service that offers a wide variety of original talk shows, drama series, kids shows, movies, and more. The video streaming service is available for $4.99 per month via the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and apple.com. It is also available on select TV sets of LG, Samsung, Amazon, and Roku. The streaming platform is also available in Apple’s subscription bundle called Apple One.
