Normally, updating the software on an iPhone is as easy as going to Settings > General > Software Update. However, in some situations, you may need access to an iOS firmware file to update your device, specially if you have a slow Internet connection, and need to clean install iOS.

Apple is still beta testing iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 for iPhone and iPad, and the updates are expected to release in December.
