In his latest tweet, Kuo said that a $50 reduction in cost from 2021 to 2022 Apple TV 4K model is good but not enough. He predicts that the upcoming Apple TV 4K model with a $99 or $100 retail price will be the “sweet spot” for the tech giant to compete with cheaper third-party alternatives in the market by Google, Roku, and Amazon.

After the launch of first-generation Apple TV in 2007 for $299, Apple sold 2010 (second-generation) and 2012 (3rd-generation)models for $99.
