Gabrielle Union joins cast of Apple TV+ “Truth Be Told” season 3

Season 3 of Apple TV+ anthology series “Truth Be Told” will star Gabrielle Union as lead, along with Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer. Apple Studios announced the renewal of the mystery drama show for season 3 in December 2021 and introduced Maisha Closson as its showrunner, executive producer, and writer of season three.

Based on the novel by Kathleen Barber, “Truth Be Told” unearths America’s obsession with true crime podcasts and the consequences of pursuing justice. It is created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman and produced by Hello Sunshine, Chernin Entertainment, and Endeavor Content. Executive produced by Spellman and Spencer, the mystery anthology series won NAACP Image Award.

Gabrielle Union will star in Apple TV+ “Truth Be Told” season 3 to unveil America’s obsession with true-crime podcasts

The upcoming season of the series will continue to unfold the mysteries of the true-crime podcasts’ world with Octavia Spence as Poppy Scoville, the podcaster who risks her life in pursuit of truth and justice. As per Deadline, Union will star as Eva in the new season, a strong-headed school principal who finds herself caught up in a predicament.

The upcoming season will see Poppy Scoville focus on a new case with Union starring as Eva, an outspoken high school principal who becomes embroiled in a problematic incident.

With Spencer’s Poppy as the thread through the anthology series and a core cast around Spencer also staying on, each season tells a different story and features new stars opposite her. Season 1 had Aaron Paul and Lizzy Caplan; Season 2 starred Kate Hudson.

Nichelle Tramble Spellman, creator and executive producer of the show said that in season 3, the journey of Poppy Scoville will continue.
