Google has finally released it’s Chrome Canary build for Mac. Canary is Google Chrome’s Developer builds, which google is numbering version 13. The current release of Chrome is at Version 11, with the beta builds at version 12. This means a few things, the builds are very unstable and are very frequent. Security is not guaranteed so you should use Canary along side another version of Chrome. I would avoid doing any shopping or putting any personal information into a web page using the browser.
There are a few cool reasons to use Canary. Because the builds are developer builds, new features are constantly introduced. Google wrote the following on their Chromium Blog:
The Mac version of Google Chrome Canary follows the same philosophy: it automatically updates more frequently than the Dev channel, and does not undergo any manual testing before each release. Because we expect it to be unstable and, at times, unusable, you can run it concurrently with a Dev, Beta, or Stable version of Google Chrome. Your Canary data remains separate, but if you set up Sync in each version of Chrome that you use, you can automatically continue using the same set of bookmarks, extensions, themes, and more.
I would suggest going and downloading Chrome for Mac here now and give it a try. Pay attention to it daily as it will be constantly updated and improved.
