Apple has released iPadOS 27 Public Beta 3, giving public beta testers another preview of the upcoming iPad software update. The release arrives one day after Apple released the same build to developers as iPadOS 27 Beta 5.
This latest beta is focused on smaller refinements rather than major new features. It adds new Search controls, refreshed app icons, expanded Siri voice options, and more information about Apple Intelligence limits for iCloud+ users.
What’s New in iPadOS 27 Public Beta 3
The latest iPadOS 27 beta includes several changes that continue Apple’s work on the software ahead of its expected public release this fall.

New Search Controls
Apple has added a new Before Search section to the Search settings in iPadOS 27 Public Beta 3.
The new controls let users adjust the number of app suggestions, app shortcut suggestions, and recent searches that appear before they start typing. These settings also affect Search suggestions shown from the Home Screen.
Siri Gets More Voice Options
The latest beta also expands Siri’s voice customization options. Apple has been gradually adding more controls for Siri in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, giving users more control over how the assistant sounds. Siri AI is one of the biggest features coming to iPadOS 27, although it requires an iPad that supports Apple Intelligence.
Apple Updates More App Icons
Several Apple app icons have received additional refinements in the latest beta.
The changes include updated icons for Siri, Safari, and Preview, along with further adjustments to other icons. Apple introduced its new Liquid Glass design with iPadOS 26 and has continued refining the visual style throughout iPadOS 27 development.
iCloud+ Adds More AI Usage Information
iPadOS 27 Public Beta 3 also adds more information about Apple Intelligence feature limits for iCloud+ users.
The change gives users greater visibility into how usage limits apply to certain AI-powered features. Apple is increasingly using cloud processing for more advanced Apple Intelligence capabilities, making these limits more relevant as the feature set expands.
iPadOS 27 Public Beta 3 Brings Smaller Refinements
Apple has already introduced most of the major iPadOS 27 features in earlier beta releases.
The update includes Siri AI, expanded Apple Intelligence capabilities, Liquid Glass customization, performance improvements, and new features across apps such as Safari, Photos, Shortcuts, and Passwords.
iPadOS 27 also brings significant changes to multitasking and window management, giving iPad users more flexibility when working with multiple apps. The latest public beta builds on those changes rather than introducing another major interface overhaul.
iPadOS 27 Public Beta 3 Is Now Available
The third public beta is available through Apple’s Beta Software Program. Users who are already enrolled can check for the update by opening Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and selecting iPadOS 27 Public Beta.
Apple’s public beta software can still contain bugs and other issues, including reduced battery life, performance problems, and third-party app compatibility issues. It is a good idea to back up an iPad before installing the update.
Apple is expected to continue testing iPadOS 27 throughout August, with the final release coming this fall alongside the next iPhone generation.
