California based tech company, Apple has recently made refurbished iPhone XR models available for purchase on its official website. Exclusively available in the United States, the company offers the repaired handsets in the same six colors options as new ones.
Users can purchase refurbished iPhone XR in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options, which sell for $499, $539 and $629 respectively. The reduced prices calculate approximately to a 16 percent discount on the resold handsets. This could be a good opportunity for users to upgrade their obsolete iPhone models for a pocket friendly price.
Customers can even purchase the now discontinued 256GB variant of iPhone XR. In September 2019, Apple axed the high storage model and offered the 64GB and 125GB variants of the iPhone XR at a reduced price.
Refurbished iPhone XR models
Apple assures that all repaired models of iPhone XR series have gone through comprehensive cleaning, testing and inspection stages. All phones are shipped with a new battery and outer casing, and then repackaged in the standard white shipping box with accompanying accessories. The company is re-selling these smartphones as carrier unlocked and without SIM, so that users can choose their preferred service provider. In addition, at the time of purchase, users can opt for AppleCare+ service for $7.99 per month, and AppleCare+Theft for $12.99 per month.
It is observed that with recent products release, Apple is trying to expand its market by offering lower price smartphones. In April, 2020 iPhone SE was launched, which is an incredible device for an incredibly low price. A cross between iPhone 8 and iPhone 11, the new iPhone SE retails for $399, making it the lowest price model in smartphone line-up. However, Apple has not officially commented on this speculation. Rather it has opposed this impression all together. When questioned on lowering the price structure to capture low income markets, Tim Cook, CEO of the Cupertino tech giant replied:
“We’ve always been about delivering the best product at a good price. That fundamental strategy has not changed at all. As you know, we did have an SE for a while. It’s great to bring it back, it was a beloved product. I wouldn’t read anything into it other than that we want to give people the best deal that we can while making the best product.”
All in all, Apple is diligently working on offering new innovative and improved products to users.
