The upcoming M1X MacBook Pro will feature UHS-II SD card slot, 32GB RAM and more – Leaker

YouTuber Luke Miani has shared three hardware specs of the upcoming M1X MacBook Pro. In his new video, Miani claims that the next-generation MacBook Pro will come with an upgraded UHS-II SD card slot, will offer up to 32GB RAM, and come with a backlit Touch Bar. Some of these claims are new and contradict the existing report of up to 64GB RAM.

Apple is speculated to launch two new redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models powered by next-generation M1X Apple Silicon later this year. It is rumored that the models would have a flat edge-to-edge design language and mini-LED display like the iPad Pro (2021), fingerprint sensor, and more.

Apple to offer M1X MacBook Pro with an advanced UHS-II SD card slot, great upgrade for photos and video editors

In his YouTube video, Miani says that Apple is bringing a UHS-II SD card slot to the upcoming MacBook Pro which will a major upgrade to the new laptop. An SD card slot allows users to store images and videos on a secure digital memory card and a UHS-II SD Memory card is an Ultra High-Speed SD card that offers higher speed data transfer than a standard SD card to transfer more data.

Adding UHS-II to the MacBook Pro will be a huge upgrade to video editors and photographers – you know, the people who really want SD card slots! It’s been great to hear in multiple reports that the SD Card slot is making a comeback, but to have this additional high-speed capability is great news.

Tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that “the practical changes to the SD slot and HDMI connectivity will help significantly increase demand for the upcoming MacBooks. He also estimates that MacBook shipments will grow by 25-30% as compared to 2020, this boost will be driven by the new design and specs.”

Previous reports corroborate this claim that the M1X MacBook Pro models will come with an SD card slot. But, Miani’s other claims are new. He says that Apple will redesign the keyboard with a new backlit Touch ID button with ‘multiple dedicated LEDs. According to him, the new illuminated button for quick and easy fingerprint scanning would display different animations or colors when users will log in on the computer or Apple Pay. However, some sources report that Apple will replace the Touch Bar with physical keys in the upcoming models, due to the feature’s unpopularity.

In addition, he expressed that Apple will not offer up to 64GB RAM in the new M1X MacBook Pro models and will offer up to 32GB RAM which adequate. A recent report says the models will come with a 1080p webcam for better FaceTime video calls and more.
