macOS Golden Gate 27.3 Beta 1 Is Out for Developers

Apple has released the macOS Golden Gate 27.3 beta to registered developers, eight days after macOS Golden Gate 27.2 went public. The Apple Intelligence features for China start on iPhone only, so this Mac beta is not where they appear.

Apple has said Apple Intelligence in China will ship with iOS 27.3 in December. Other platforms will follow once they get the required approvals, and Apple has not given a date for the Mac.

macOS Golden Gate 27.3 beta leaves Apple Intelligence in China to the iPhone

The first China release runs on supported iPhones, starting with the iPhone 15 Pro. Testers get it in the iOS developer beta from November 4.

Siri and the device language both need to be set to English or Simplified Chinese. Alibaba’s Qwen handles some Siri, Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence requests, while Siri AI and the other next-generation Apple Intelligence features from WWDC 2026 are not part of this first release.

Developers can install the beta from System Settings on any supported Mac

The beta is build 26C5035r. On a Mac enrolled in the developer program, it appears in Software Update once you opt in.

  • Open System Settings and click General.
  • Select Software Update.
  • Opt into the macOS Golden Gate betas, then install the update.

Every supported Mac uses Apple silicon, so Intel Macs stay on macOS Tahoe. The MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display, which is available starting November 6, is also one of the Macs that run macOS Golden Gate.

macOS Golden Gate 27.2 set the Siri AI baseline, with four more languages due by year end

macOS Golden Gate 27.2 added Siri AI in five new languages and redesigned volume and brightness sliders. The new languages are French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. The update reached everyone on October 26 as build 26B123.

Apple has said Siri AI will add four more languages by the end of the year, without naming a date. They are Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese, and Siri AI is still in beta on macOS Golden Gate 27.2.

Siri AI is unavailable in the EU on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and Apple says it is working with the EU on a path forward. The server-side features behind it have daily usage limits, and Apple says expanded access will be available for a fee in the future.
