macOS Golden Gate 27.2 Is Out with Siri AI in Five More Languages

Apple has released macOS Golden Gate 27.2, and Siri AI on the Mac now works in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. You can install it from System Settings, under General, then Software Update.

The update also lets Siri AI retain context from previous Siri interactions and draw from a wider range of personal context, and it brings Suggestions to Messages for quick actions in Calendar and Reminders. The final build is 26B123, which differs from the release candidate from October 19, and Apple has not yet published the security content for it.

macOS Golden Gate 27.2

Siri AI remembers more and speaks five more languages

macOS Golden Gate launched on September 14 with Siri AI in English only. macOS Golden Gate 27.2 adds French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, which Apple had promised for October.

Siri AI now holds on to useful context from earlier conversations and pulls from more of your personal data when it answers. Suggestions in Messages appear under a conversation and offer quick actions in apps such as Calendar and Reminders, based on what you and the other person wrote.

The sliders and the Apple Music icon get a new look

The redesigned sliders replace the plain line with a segmented bar, so every key press shows up as a visible step. Control Center keeps the old sliders, which means the new look only appears when you use the keyboard keys.

The Apple Music app icon also changes from red and white to black and white. Apple has not said whether the new Apple Music logo will replace it later.

Every Apple silicon Mac that runs macOS Golden Gate can install it

The supported list covers the MacBook Neo (2026), MacBook Air with Apple silicon (2020 and later), MacBook Pro with Apple silicon (2020 and later), iMac with Apple silicon (2021 and later), Mac mini with Apple silicon (2020 and later), Mac Studio (2022 and later) and Mac Pro with Apple silicon (2023). Intel Macs stay on macOS Tahoe, which gets its own security updates.

The update also carries touch gesture code in Safari, Notes, Photos and Quick Look. A touchscreen MacBook Pro is reportedly one of the products planned for the Pro and Tell launch on Wednesday, October 28 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, though Apple has not named any products for the event.
