A lot of rumors have already surfaced about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 13 lineup. One of the recent rumors suggests iPhone 13 could come with a maximum internal storage capacity of 1TB. iPhone 12 comes with a maximum of 512GB internal storage and though that is quite a lot of storage, Apple could start offering a 1TB option with its forthcoming lineup.
The report also states that there will be improvements to LiDAR technology across all iPhone 13 models. Not only will the lineup feature improved LiDAR technology, but the report suggests that Apple will expand its LiDAR scanner to the entire iPhone 13 lineup, rather than exclusively adding it to Pro and Pro Max models.
iPhone 13 to offer up to 1TB internal storage and improved LiDAR sensors, says Wedbush analyst
A recent report from Wedbush analyst Dan Ives, brought forth by 9to5Mac, suggests that iPhone 13 will feature up to 1TB of internal storage. It is unclear if this storage option will be available across all the models in the series or if it will be reserved for the higher-end models. iPhone 12 offers up to 512GB as the maximum capacity, but iPhone Pro models do come with up to 1TB internal storage.
This is not the first time a rumor has arisen suggesting iPhone 13 will feature a 1TB storage variant. Back in January, serial Apple leaker, Jon Prosser said that most iPhone 13 prototypes do feature 1TB of storage for the Pro models. Prosser noted that the Cupertino tech giant could reserve the larger storage variant for iPhone 13 Pro given the fact that lower storage in its more popular phone would push users to rely on paid services like iCloud.
The same investor note from the Wedbush analyst also suggests that the upcoming iPhone 13 lineup will receive LiDAR improvements across all models suggests that the tech giant may add LiDAR sensors in all the models. Apple’s current iPhone 12 series features LiDAR sensors in only the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max variants.
Other iPhone 13 rumors that have emerged recently suggest that some models in the lineup might feature an in-display fingerprint, LPTO OLED displays with support for 120Hz refresh rates, and all models will feature Qualcomm next-generation Snapdragon 5G chip and an updated camera unit that will sport an improved ultra-wide camera with a fast f1.8 lens with auto-focus.
