As the rumored release of the new iPhone 13 is coming closer, tons of different sources have speculated that the lineup will feature a smaller notch. Most recently, a leaker known as @DuanRui shared an image of two iPhone “film samples” of the upcoming smartphone series, which corroborate previous rumors of a smaller Face ID notch.
The alleged iPhone 13 film samples also show the front camera moved to the left side of the notch, unlike the current placement of the camera on the right side of the notch in iPhones with the TrueDepth camera.
Leaked iPhone 13 images allegedly show a smaller notch, repositioned earpiece, and front camera
The image shared by @DuanRui appears to be screens of the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 mini models which show a visibly smaller notch compared to the current iPhone 12 lineup. The change is believed to be a result of the earpiece speaker being moved up into the top bezel. In addition to this, Apple is reportedly working on a redesigned Face ID system. The system could allow components to be tightly packed together, resulting in a smaller notch.

Based on 3D renders of the iPhone 13, Mysmartprice claims that the series will have a crowded smaller notch and redesigned rear camera design.
According to a previous report from Mac Otakara, the upcoming iPhone lineup will arrive with minimal changes on the front but will feature a repositioned earpiece and front camera, and a smaller notch to make it less noticeable, as depicted in the image shared by DuanRui.
It is expected that Apple’s upcoming iPhone lineup will be identical to iPhone 12 with 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, 6.1-inch, 6.1-inch Pro, and 6.7-inch 13 Pro Max models. Other rumors have suggested that the lineup will feature a faster A15 chip, in-display Touch ID, in-display Touch ID, larger batteries, and 120Hz “ProMotion” displays. It has also been rumored that all iPhone models in the lineup will feature sensor-shift stabilization, including the non-Pro models.
