Limera1n could be Geohot’s next tool to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.3/4.0 and iPad

Taimur from RedmondPie has just gotten a tip on what could be the name of the next jailbreak tool by George Hotz. Limera1n.com is a new domain discovered to have been registered by George Hotz, on the same day when he claimed that he had jailbroken iPhone OS 4. Limera1n.com is up and running currently and shows just an image of a raindrop:

The whois records for both blackra1n.com, George Hotz’ previous jailbreak tool website and limera1n, the currently suspect for the new jailbreak tool website, are exactly the same.

We had been hearing buzz of how George Hotz has found an exploit which is better than what other hackers had found and he’ll be the first one to release it before the end of this month.

The Dev Team has already released an updated version of redsn0w which jailbreaks iPhone OS 4.0 beta, but it’s not for the average user, neither is iPhone OS 4.0 yet. Apart from that we’ve been seeing various demo videos of iPod Touch 2G jailbroken with iPhone OS 4, multitasking on jailbroken iPhone 3G with OS 4.0 as well as other sneak peeks at what to expect.

We might have limera1n in our hands before the end of this month but don’t get your hopes too high, though, the final word will come from only George Hotz himself.
