watchOS 7.6 released with ECG and Irregular Rhythm Notifications in 30 new regions

Apple has released watchOS 7.6 with ECG and irregular rhythm support in 30 new regions and countries. These new features will be available on Apple Watch Series 4, Series 5, and Series 6 models.

What’s new in watchOS 7.6?

Apple Watch Series 4, Series 5 and Series 6 feature sensors that allow users to take electrocardiogram readings right from their wrist. Apple initially launched this feature with Series 4 in just the United States, but has gradually rolled it out to more than 70 regions and countries around the world

Although this is a relatively minor update in terms of user-facing changes, it is a welcome one for users in the 30 new regions and countries that can now use ECG and Irregular Rhythm Notifications. This is the biggest jump in the number of regions that have been added with support for these life-saving features.

How to upgrade to watchOS 7.6?

To upgrade to watchOS 7.6, open the Watch app on your Apple Watch-paired iPhone and go to Settings > General > Software Update to start downloading the new version. Make sure your Apple Watch has at least 50% battery charge and is placed on its charger throughout the update process.
