5.4-inch iPhone 12 might retail for $749 – report

Reports regarding the new flagship iPhone 12, the latest price leak claims that the retail cost of the base model of the upcoming smartphone series might be $50 more than the current iPhone 11. Tech analyst, Jeff Pu predicts that the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 would retail for $749 because of high-end technology like OLED display and 5G network support. In comparison, the current 64GB iPhone 11 retails for $699 which has an LCD display.

Pu’s report of higher price iPhone 12 comes at the time when there is news of Apple excluding EarPods and power adaptor from the new smartphone’s box are circulating in the industry. It will be interesting to see how consumers would react to paying more money for a phone with no wired headphones and charger if both pieces of information prove to be accurate.

However, Pu believes that the consumers will not mind paying $50 more for a more advanced gadget with 5G connectivity and higher-resolution OLED display.

Other reports on Price

In April, tech analyst and Apple leaker, Jon Prosser asked his source about the accuracy of the rumored price tags claiming that the price range of the new iPhone series would start from $649 for base model till $1,099 for Pro Max models.

Prosser’s source corroborated Pu’s claim that the 6.1-inch model of the upcoming smartphone will be priced higher than the current 6.1-inch iPhone 11 model.

If the rumored design specs hold weight, it will be the first time that Apple would be offering an OLED display at a low price of $749 in contrast to the current $999 price tag of iPhone 11 Pro with the same display option.
