Apple Watch Ultra 4 adds a new way to keep your Readiness score visible directly on the watch face. The new Readiness bezel joins the existing bezel options available on Ultra models.
Readiness is a new watchOS feature that uses activity, sleep and health data to provide a daily score. On supported Ultra 4 watch faces, the score can now sit around the edge of the display alongside other bezel information.
Readiness Becomes A New Bezel Option
Watch faces that support bezel information can now use Readiness alongside the existing options:
- None
- Seconds
- Depth
- Elevation
- Training
- Readiness
The Readiness option displays the numerical score and its description at the bottom of the watch face. Four bars around the edge represent the different score categories, while a dot shows where the current score falls within the range.
Readiness Uses Activity, Sleep And Vitals
The Readiness score is based on information collected by Apple Watch, including fitness activity, sleep and overnight and daytime vitals.
Overnight measurements include heart rate, respiratory rate, wrist temperature and recovery HRV. During the day, Apple Watch uses heart rate and recovery HRV as part of the Readiness data.
More Ultra 4 Watch Faces Can Show It
The new bezel configuration works with Ultra watch faces that support bezel information, including Modular Ultra and the new Siri Modular face.
That makes the Readiness score available without opening the Readiness app. Since the score can change during the day, keeping it on the watch face provides a quick way to check the current reading.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Series 12 are now available, with Readiness introduced across both models. The new Readiness bezel configuration is specifically available on Apple Watch Ultra 4.
