watchOS 27.3 Beta and tvOS 27.3 Beta 1 Are Out for Developers

Apple released the watchOS 27.3 beta and the tvOS 27.3 beta to developers on November 3. The watchOS 27.3 beta supports the same Apple Watch models as watchOS 27, while the tvOS 27.3 beta runs on the Apple TV 4K from 2021 and 2022.

The betas follow the final releases of watchOS 27.2 and tvOS 27.2. Live Rewind and Siri Recap are the two Apple Watch features that need Siri AI, and only the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 can run them.

Live Rewind and Siri Recap Work Only on Two Apple Watch Models

Both features start in English. Live Rewind shows a text snippet of the last 15 seconds of speech when you double-press the Digital Crown, and snippets disappear about 30 seconds after the display dims unless you save them to the Siri app.

Live Rewind plays a chime and shows a microphone indicator while it runs, even when the watch is in silent mode. Siri Recap gives a short, high-level summary of a conversation once it ends. You turn it on from the Watch app on your iPhone, and the summaries are processed with Private Cloud Compute.

Eight Apple Watch Models Can Install the watchOS 27.3 Beta

The watchOS 27.3 beta supports the same models as watchOS 27.

  • Apple Watch Series 12
  • Apple Watch Series 11
  • Apple Watch Series 10
  • Apple Watch Series 9
  • Apple Watch Ultra 4
  • Apple Watch Ultra 3
  • Apple Watch Ultra 2
  • Apple Watch SE 3

The tvOS 27.3 beta runs on the Apple TV 4K (2nd generation, 2021) and the Apple TV 4K (3rd generation, 2022). The Apple TV HD and the first Apple TV 4K stay on older software.

The betas are for registered Apple developers, and Apple also seeded iOS 27.3 beta 1 and macOS Golden Gate 27.3 beta 1 on November 3.

If a device is already opted in to developer betas, the update appears in Software Update. On Apple Watch, open the Watch app on the paired iPhone, tap General, then Software Update, then Beta Updates. On Apple TV, go to Settings, then System, then Software Updates. A beta cannot be downgraded once it is on an Apple Watch.
