Friday Night Baseball on Apple Vision Pro: Live in Apple Immersive from August 28

Live baseball in Apple Immersive arrives on August 28, when the Boston Red Sox face the New York Yankees in the first Friday Night Baseball game to stream in 3D on Apple Vision Pro. Apple and MLB announced the full September schedule, confirming that four of the seven remaining Friday night doubleheaders will be available in Apple Immersive, giving Vision Pro owners their first opportunity to watch live sports in the format under an active Apple TV subscription.

The Apple Immersive feed is recorded in 8K with a 180-degree field of view and carries its own dedicated broadcast team: Paul Severino on play-by-play, Xavier Scruggs as analyst, and Michelle Margaux as sideline reporter. The production includes dedicated replays, an immersive graphics package with team lineups and stats rendered as floating elements in the viewer’s space, and ambisonic microphones capturing stadium audio in Spatial Audio. During breaks in play, the broadcast stays live and puts viewers inside the stadium atmosphere from multiple angles rather than cutting away.

Who Can Watch and How

Vision Pro users with an active Apple TV subscription in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the UK, and the US can stream the games live directly through the Apple TV app. The Apple Immersive stream works on both Vision Pro (M2) and Vision Pro (M5). Full game replays and highlight packages will also be available on demand after each broadcast.

The standard Friday Night Baseball doubleheaders continue as before, with two broadcast teams handling the regular feed: Wayne Randazzo, Dontrelle Willis, and Heidi Watney on one game; Alex Faust, Ryan Spilborghs, and Tricia Whitaker on the other. Pregame shows are hosted by Siera Santos, former MLB All-Star Eric Hosmer, and insider Russell Dorsey. All Friday Night Baseball content remains included with an Apple TV subscription and carries no local broadcast restrictions across the 60 countries and regions where the service is available.

Apple’s Immersive Sports Bet

Friday Night Baseball is in its fifth season on Apple TV, running under a seven-year deal struck in 2022 that runs through 2028. Apple has been integrating iPhone into the broadcast camera lineup throughout the 2026 season, building on a milestone from the final Friday of the 2025 season when iPhone 17 Pro entered the live production workflow at Fenway Park, a moment the National Baseball Hall of Fame recognized by adding one of the authenticated devices to its permanent collection in Cooperstown.

The August 28 debut comes alongside a run of sports rights moves Apple has made recently, including acquiring US streaming rights to F1 and revising its MLS agreement to make games available free to Apple TV subscribers by ending MLS Season Pass. Live immersive sports has long been cited as the use case most likely to justify Vision Pro’s $3,499 price point, and this is the clearest test of that argument yet.

Whether four games in September converts any meaningful number of fence-sitters into headset buyers is a separate question, but the production scope Apple and MLB have built for the Red Sox-Yankees opener suggests neither party is treating this as a limited trial.
