Leaker hints at new redesigned and colorful iMacs at Spring Loaded event on April 20

Apple is going to host its first event of the year on April 20, ‘Spring Loaded’. And coinciding with the event’s colorful theme, invite’s vibrant Apple artwork, reliable leaker @L0vetodream hints at the launch of a new redesigned and colorful iMac line-up. Furthermore, the company is expected to introduce next-generation AirPods, AirTags, iPad Pro, and other products.

Last month, the company discontinued the Intel-based iMac Pro model which is no longer available for sale on the company’s website and Apple Store app. The Cupertino tech giant bid farewell to the all-in-one computer launched in 2017 amidst rumors that the company is going to launch a new 24-inch and 31.5-inch Apple Silicon iMac.

Apple might re-introduce 1999 type colorful iMacs with a thinner design

In its usual quirky style, the anonymous leaker @L0vetodream tweeted images of the invite and the 1999 neon-colored iMacs suggesting that the upcoming event will reveal a colorful all-in-one lineup. The claim of changes in color is corroborated by a previous report by Jon Prosser who said that Apple will be introducing the redesigned M1 iMac in five new colors like the current iPad Air line-up: Silver, Space Grey, Rose Gold, Green, and Sky Blue. Prosser also claimed that the company is working on an updated Mac Pro mini with Mac mini design language.

In addition, there has been a lot of speculation on the expected design and features of the new computer models. Earlier, L0vetodream shared that “the iMac’s screen is really big, bigger than the biggest one” with thinner bezels, round corners, flat edges, and Pro Display XDR. A reference of Apple Silicon iMac was discovered in macOS Big Sur 11.3 beta 5 code.

Apple announced the 2 years transition of Mac line-up from Intel to Apple Silicon at the WWDC 2020 event and its first-generation custom-built chip ‘M1’ was launched at the ‘One more thing’ event in November 2020. The M1 Mac models have impressed the industry with their fast performance and incredible battery life. So, similar performance upgrades are expected from the upcoming all-in-one too.
