iOS 27.2 Is Out with Siri AI in Five New Languages

Apple has released iOS 27.2, and Siri AI now understands French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. The redesigned Health app that showed up in the early betas is not in it.

Everything else is smaller, from Dual Capture in Group FaceTime to profiles in the Apple TV app and Suggested Actions in Messages. The update skips iOS 27.1, which only the iPhone Duo received, and it runs on the iPhone 11 and later. Install it from Settings, then General, then Software Update.

iOS 27.2 new features for iPhone

Siri AI speaks five more languages and remembers more

Siri AI launched with iOS 27 in English only. iOS 27.2 adds five more languages, which Apple had promised for October. Siri AI runs on the iPhone 15 Pro and later, and some iPhones still need a waitlist signup before it turns on. It is not available in the EU on the iPhone at first.

Siri AI can also recall past conversations and draw on more personal context, such as photos attached in Messages. A new Excluded Apps setting lets you choose which apps Siri, Search and suggestions can access.

Dual Capture reaches Group FaceTime and the Apple TV app gets profiles

Dual Capture debuted in iOS 27 for one-on-one calls. In iOS 27.2 it works in Group FaceTime too, and tapping the flip camera button streams your front and rear cameras at once.

Sending both streams needs an iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air or a newer model. Everyone else on the call can watch the dual stream if they run iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27.

Apple TV app profiles in iOS 27.2

The Apple TV app opens with a profile selection screen on the iPhone. A new profile needs a name, an icon and a yes or no on whether it belongs to a child, so kids keep their own viewing history and recommendations. You can switch the screen off if you do not share your iPhone.

Messages, Home and Podcasts get smaller changes, and Health stays out

Suggested Actions appear under a message and offer to create a calendar event or a reminder, or to add the details to a note. The feature showed up in the summer betas, missed the iOS 27 launch build and returns with a way to choose which types of suggestions you see.

Compatible smart locks gain two settings in the Home app. Lock After Closing sets how long after a door shuts that it locks itself, and Door Left Open sends a notification when a door stays open too long.

Apple Podcasts splits Up Next on the Home tab into New Episodes and Continue Playing. New Episodes lists the latest episodes from shows you follow. Anything you started and did not finish moves to Continue Playing.

The Home tab in the Games app now lists recently downloaded games you have not played yet. Call Context reminds you of anniversaries when you call a contact, and Apple Music gets a black and white app icon.

Users in Europe get an alternative App Tracking Transparency prompt that re-prompts every year, and the prompt is required in France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Romania.

The redesigned Health app, with its Insights and Longevity tabs and a Health Age feature, was in the early betas. Apple pulled it from beta 4 and has said it will launch later in the year. Data from an earlier beta stays on the iPhone and remains viewable in Settings.
