Discord is now optimized for Apple Silicon Macs

Discord has finally released native support for Apple Silicon Macs. At the time of the launch of M1 Mac models in 2020, Apple also introduced Rosetta 2 to run apps that were not optimized for Apple Silicon Macs like Discord. Although the apps on Rosetta 2 run smoothly on Apple Silicon Macs, they still do not offer the same level of performance as the apps with native support.

With native support for Apple Silicon, Discord runs faster than before

After beta testing the native Apple silicon support, an updated version of Discord with native support for Apple Silicon Macs is released to users. On Rosetta 2, the app’s users complained of poor performance and battery life issues. Thus, the company has released it as a Universal app to run natively on Intel-based and Apple Silicon Macs.
