iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 compatible devices

Apple recently unveiled its newest software updates: iOS 14 for the iPhone lineup and iPadOS 14 for the iPad lineup. Unlike last year’s iOS 13 update where several devices did not get the new update, notably the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and, the iPad Air, iOS 14 and iPadOS will be available for all devices running iOS 13 and the current iPadOS software. Here are the lists of all devices compatible with the new software beta.

List of iOS 14 compatible devices

iOS 14 brings a major refresh to the iPhone with some big features. Users can now add widgets to the Home screen, unlock their car with their iPhone and they can use the new Translate app for live translations. In addition to these features, Apple has added a lot of new features to the Messages app: Users can @ mention certain people in group chats, they can pin certain conversations and contact to the top of the Messages app and they can also make a thread from messages.

List of iPadOS14 compatible devices

iPadOS comes with a redesigned sidebar for apps, compact design for face and phone calls, re-designed Siri and much more. The new update comes with a new feature for Apple Pencil users. Scribble will automatically convert anything users manually write in any text field, into text. The Apple Pencil also has some updates: Smart Selection, shape recognition and data detection.
