Apple TV+ drops new trailer of ‘The Year That Music Changed Everything’ an upcoming docuseries

Apple gives us a first look at its upcoming Apple TV+ show 1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything with a new trailer. The eight-part documentary series will premiere on 21 May. The series will give us a closer look at the most iconic artists, songs, that we still have on our playlists 50 years later. It includes Marvin Gaye, Lou Reed, Bob Marley, Bill Withers, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Graham Nash, Mick Jagger, and more according to Apple.

According to Apple, The Year That Music Changed Everything will give us a closer look at how the musical icons of 1971 were influenced by the changing tides of history, and how they used their music to change the culture around them, and inspire hope.

In a tumultuous era, 1971 was a year of musical innovation and rebirth fueled by the political and cultural upheaval of the time. Stars reached new heights, fresh talent exploded onto the screen, and boundaries expanded like never before.

Hailing from Universal Music Group’s Mercury Studios in association with On The Corner Films, Asif Kapadia will serve as series director and will be assisted by James Gay-Rees, David Joseph, and UMG’s Adam Barker to execute production. Danielle Peck serves as series producer and will direct along with James Rogan.

To enjoy The Year That Music Changed Everything when it premiers, users will need a subscription to Apple’s streaming service. For $4.99 per month, Apple TV Plus is available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV via the Apple TV app. It is also compatible with selected Samsung and LG smart TVs, Roku devices, Amazon Fire TV, and tv.apple.com.
