Apple TV+ new “The White Darkness” limited series will star Tom Hiddleston

Apple TV+ has announced a new limited drama series “The White Darkness” starring the popular Tom Hiddleston known for the mischievous character ‘Loki’ from the Marvel franchise. The new series is based on David Grann’s nonfiction work by the same name.

“The White Darkness” is developed and executive produced by Soo Hugh, who will also serve as its showrunner with Mark Heyman. The series is a co-production from Apple Studios and UCP and will be executive produced by Hiddleston, Heyman, and Theresa Kang-Lowe.

The upcoming limited series “The White Darkness” will showcase the story of a man, Henry Worsley (played by Hiddleston), who is in love with his family and adventure. And to appease his adventurous nature, Worsley embarks on an extreme journey to cross Antarctica on foot.

“The White Darkness” is inspired by the true life account of Henry Worsley, a devoted husband and father, a former soldier, a man of deep honor and sacrifice, but also a man deeply obsessed with adventure, manifesting in an epic journey crossing Antarctica on foot. Starring Hiddleston as Worsley, this is a spellbinding story of courage, love, family and the extremes of human capacity.
